Islamabad: Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal Tuesday inaugurated a lifestyle medicine health kiosk at the Ministry of National Health Services, aimed at making healthier food choices available to employees and discouraging the use of ultra-processed foods in official settings.
The kiosk, set up at the ministry premises, is a joint initiative of the health ministry, Riphah Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, and the Pakistan Association of Lifestyle Medicine. Sponsored by Riphah’s Culinary Arts Department, the kiosk will offer food prepared without processed ingredients and white sugar, using whole-wheat products and other healthier materials. Officials said the initiative was intended to promote healthier eating habits at workplaces and support efforts to prevent non-communicable diseases, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.
Federal Health Secretary Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and PALM President Dr Zafar Mirza were also present at the inauguration.
