Paintings exhibition, art competition begin

LAHORE:A grand paintings exhibition and art competition kicked off on Wednesday at Coopera Art Gallery, The Mall to commemorate Independence Day bringing together young and senior artists under one roof.

About sixty colourful artworks were hung on the walls of the oldest gallery by 48 artists showing creativity, patriotism and love for Pakistan. It appeared that a great opportunity was provided to the artists to express love for their homeland reflecting its history, heritage and national identity through visual art.

NCA Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri inaugurated the exhibition. He said, this exhibition showed very interesting and diverse artistic patriotic themes interpreting celebration of Independence Day consisting high national spirits. He also praised the efforts of both artists and Coopera Art Gallery to organise such a big show. Dr. Jafri also mention that a medals and certificates awarding ceremony would be held on Sunday at 4.00pm at Coopera Art Gallery.

Large number of artists, art lovers and students holding Pakistan’s flags participated in the inaugural ceremony. The exhibition will continue until August 18, 2026 from 10.30am to 6.00pm daily except holidays.
