Faysal Bank first-half profit rises as deposits reach Rs1.56tr

KARACHI: Faysal Bank Ltd reported profit before tax of Rs20.5 billion and net profit of Rs10 billion for the first half of 2026, as deposits rose and the lender increased its share of low-cost current accounts, according to a statement.

Earnings per share stood at Rs6.6 and the bank declared a second-quarter cash dividend of Rs1.5 per share.Total assets crossed Rs1.8 trillion during the period, while deposits increased 9.5 per cent to Rs1.56 trillion. Current accounts rose 21 per cent to Rs646 billion, lifting their share of total deposits to 41.4 per cent from 37.5 per cent at the end of December 2025.

Furthermore, Faysal Bank’s advance-to-deposit ratio fell to 51.7 per cent from 61.1 per cent, while its infection ratio stood at 2.3 per cent. The bank also raised Rs7 billion through a Tier II Sukuk, strengthening its capital base.

Group Chief Executive Officer Juma Abul said the bank’s performance reflects progress in its transformation and expansion plans, while Chairperson Mian Muhammad Younis attributed the results to the growth of its branch network and core deposit base.President and CEO Yousaf Hussain said the bank will focus on expanding its product offering and network, with growth centred on trade and Islamic banking.
