PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party-United States of America (ANP-USA) will hold its organizational elections on August 23.
According to a press release issued by ANP-USA Organizing Committee Information Secretary Tauseef-ur-Rehman Mohammadzai, the election process will be conducted by an Election Committee headed by Chairman Taj Akbar Khan, with Bhadar Shah Khan and Abdullah Bashir as members.
The elections will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is August 15, while the final list of candidates will be announced on August 20.
The positions up for election include president, first vice president, second vice president, vice president (female), general secretary, deputy general secretary, joint secretary, information secretary, finance secretary, cultural secretary, social media secretary, salar, and 10 members of the Executive Council.
The Organizing Committee expressed the hope that the elections would strengthen the party’s organizational structure in the United States and enable it to more effectively raise the issues faced by the Pashtun community.The newly elected leadership will carry forward the mission of Bacha Khan.
