LAHORE: Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) Director General Sikandar Zeshan has directed officials to ensure timely provision of housing facilities to deserving families under the Punjab government’s ongoing housing initiatives.
He issued these directions while chairing a meeting held to review progress on modern and sustainable housing projects and discuss measures to improve PHATA’s performance and efficiency.
The meeting reviewed key housing schemes launched by the Punjab Chief Minister, including Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar, Mehfooz Chhat and Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar. The participants agreed to further enhance institutional capacity and ensure improved services for beneficiaries.
Sikandar directed field officers to provide comprehensive guidance and assistance to applicants and beneficiaries of the housing schemes. He said all possible facilities and support would be extended to ensure that the benefits of government initiatives reached deserving families without delay.
The PHATA DG said provision of safe, quality and sustainable housing facilities remained a top priority of the government. He also announced a zero-tolerance policy against illegal commercialisation, saying strict action would be taken against activities that hinder planned residential development and public interest.
