The Sindh College Education Department has banned presenting gifts, ajrak, Sindhi topi, flower bouquets, souvenirs and other commemorative items to the college education secretary during his official visits to public colleges across the province.
According to a directive issued by the department on August 6, the Sindh colleges director general, the regional directors of colleges in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana, as well as principals of all public colleges have been asked to ensure strict compliance with the decision.
The directive specifically states that during the secretary’s official visits to government colleges, gifts of any kind, including ajrak, Sindhi topi, flower bouquets or any other commemorative items or souvenirs, should not be presented to him. The department has directed all regional directors and principals to implement the instructions in letter and spirit, warning that non-compliance would be viewed seriously.
