LAHORE: The CM Punjab Sports Academies, organized by the Sports Board Punjab, are witnessing a massive turnout with more than 3,000 children currently under training across multiple venues.
At the Punjab Stadium, hundreds of young athletes trained simultaneously, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Secretary Sports Punjab, Fazal-ur-Rehman, praised the ongoing youth sessions, while Director General Sports Punjab, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, personally inspected the facilities and interacted with coaches to assess the quality of instruction being provided.
Parents and children expressed gratitude toward the Chief Minister of Punjab, with young athletes chanting slogans in appreciation of the initiative. DG Sports Punjab confirmed that the academies are offering free year-round coaching, ensuring accessibility for children from diverse backgrounds.
To foster competitiveness, inter-academy sports competitions are being actively organized among trainees. DG Sports Punjab emphasized that these academies are designed to nurture elite athletes who will go on to represent Pakistan at national and international levels, fulfilling the Chief Minister’s vision of structured sports development across the province.
Qureshi further stated that the program is being expanded to all districts of Punjab, making it one of the largest grassroots sports initiatives in the country. “Modern coaching methods and organized competitions in the CM Punjab Sports Academies are a cornerstone of youth sports development and a pathway to international sporting success,” he added.
