Islamabad:The 16th Annual Photo Exhibition of the Rawalpindi Islamabad Photo Journalists Association (RIPJA) in collaboration with AL Sadat Group titled “Culture & National Heritage of Pakistan -- Our Identity, Our Pride” was held here Friday.
The event was graced by Federal Minister for Culture & National Heritage Aurangzeb Khan Kachhi, Chairman Standing Committee on Defence Senator Talha Mahmood Chairman Sadat Group Syed Sadat Shah and Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Emmanuel as chief guests and presided over by RIPJA President Sajjad Haider. Eighty-five photojournalists from the twin cities displayed their artwork. Senior photojournalists and office-bearers including Javed Nasir, Chaudry Javed, Bashir Shad, Latif Adil, Ulfat Shah, Mazhar Khan, Tanveer Shahzad, Afzal Chaudhry, Jahangir Chaudhry, Sohail Shahzad, Muhammad Asim, Zulfiqar Khan, Raja Mudassar and many others attended the event.
Aurangzeb Khan khichi said that Islamabad is home to over 10 officially recognised heritage sites that reflect the rich history and cultural legacy of the region. The ministry has launched restoration and conservation projects to protect these landmarks for future generations.
He announced Rs500,000 grant for the association and said that Memorandum of Understanding will be sign with RIPJA to work together for promotion of culture and heritage of our country.
