LAHORE:The internal medicine residency programme of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) has achieved accreditation by ACGME International (ACGME-I), the international counterpart of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in the USA.
Following a rigorous review process involving on-site visits and virtual tours, the programme is now recognised for meeting internationally accepted high standards of educational quality, which include structured training, supervised responsibility, and a strong focus on patient safety, competency-based learning, and evidence-based practice.
