Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Wednesday reviewed progress in the high-profile murder investigation of businessman Mir Raza, while city police also finalised security and traffic arrangements for processions and religious gatherings during Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Officials said Wahab met Additional Inspector General Karachi Azad Khan and members of the special investigation team probing the murder. During the meeting, the additional IG briefed the mayor on the latest developments and progress in the investigation.
The mayor said police were examining the case from multiple angles using technical and scientific methods to ensure a comprehensive investigation. He stressed that the probe was being conducted with professionalism, transparency and due diligence. Wahab said the Sindh government had constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the case. Emphasising the need to maintain public confidence, he directed police officials to remain in close contact with Mir Raza’s family and keep them informed of the investigation’s progress while addressing their concerns.
