PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF) on Wednesday opposed the federal government’s proposal to create new administrative units, arguing that the move would place an additional financial burden on the national exchequer without addressing the country’s governance challenges.

Speaking to reporters at the Peshawar High Court, PLF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Gohar Rehman Khattak Advocate criticised the proposal reportedly floated by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, saying the solution to administrative shortcomings lay in improving the existing governance system rather than establishing new units.
