LAHORE:A suspected extortionist and robber was killed in an alleged encounter took place in Dera Ghazi Khan between a CCD team and a gang of outlaws.
A fierce exchange of fire took place in Dera Ghazi Khan between a CCD team and the gang of Akbar Khosa, a notorious extortionist and robber. As a result of the encounter, Akbar Khosa, who was considered a symbol of terror, was killed, while a brave CCD official, Shahzad Ahmad Qureshi, was seriously injured. Sources stated that acting on secret information, the CCD Dera Ghazi Khan conducted a raid on Multan Road, DG Khan on Tuesday night to apprehend Akbar Khosa. Upon spotting the police team, the robber and his accomplices resorted to indiscriminate firing. In retaliatory action, robber Akbar Khosa was killed, while his other accomplices managed to escape from the scene. The CCD has constituted special teams for the immediate arrest of the absconding suspects and a search operation is underway in the area.
Motorcycle thief held
Nishtar Colony police have arrested an alleged motorcycle thief with the help of CCTV footage and recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession.
Police said the suspect was traced and arrested from Khaliq Nagar during an investigation into motorcycle theft cases. The accused was allegedly involved in multiple motorcycle theft incidents and had stolen two motorcycles a day before his arrest. According to investigators, the suspect is a drug addict and allegedly committed thefts to finance his addiction. Separate cases have been registered against him.
