LAHORE:Police have registered a murder case over the killing of two women and the injury of two sisters in Harbanspura, where a man allegedly attacked his mother, neighbour and family members following a minor dispute.
According to police sources, the FIR was registered on the complaint of Imran, husband of the deceased Sultana. Investigators said the suspect, Aurangzeb, allegedly attacked his mother Kaneez after she refused to give him money. He is accused of killing his mother and neighbour Sultana, while also injuring the complainant's daughters, 23-yearold Aqsa and 13-yearold Arifa. Police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident and recovered the alleged murder weapon, a screwdriver, from his possession.
Minor dies after falling into drain
A two-yearold girl died after falling into Rohi Nullah in Raiwind City area.According to Rescue 1122, the emergency teams retrieved the child from the drain but she could not be revived. Officials said the minor had been playing with her sister when she accidentally fell into the nullah.
16 POs in financial fraud cases arrested
The Mobile Squad of Lahore Police has arrested 16 inter-district proclaimed offenders allegedly wanted in financial fraud cases during operations at various checkpoints across the city.
According to police, the arrests were made during routine checking at Mobile Squad pickets with the help of the e-Police App and other modern technology. The suspects were identified as suspicious during verification and were found wanted in cases registered in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Narowal and Sialkot districts. The arrested suspects, including Akbar, Nasir, Mudassar, Ahmed, Samar and Zafar, among others, were handed over to the police stations concerned.
