LAHORE:Two factories caught fire in separate incidents in Lahore on Wednesday, triggering extensive firefighting operations by Rescue 1122 teams.
The first incident occurred at around 2:31am at a safety helmets and jackets manufacturing factory in Sundar Industrial Estate. Rescue 1122 dispatched 10 emergency vehicles and 35 rescuers and officers to control the blaze.
Later in the day, another fire broke out at a shoe manufacturing factory in Ghausia Park Timber Market at around 10:34am. Rescue teams reached the site with 12 firefighting vehicles and 40 rescuers and launched an operation to extinguish the flames.
Rescue officials said both fires were brought under control by early afternoon, while cooling operations continued at the affected sites. No loss of life was reported in either incident. The causes of the fires and the extent of financial losses are yet to be ascertained.
