LAHORE:Solidarity rallies and seminars were organised on Kashmir Exploitation Day observed on Wednesday to express unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
The day of August 5, 2019 remained one of the darkest days in the history of South Asia when India took unilateral and illegal measures to alter the special status of Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Punjab Minister for Energy and Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar said this in his message on Kashmir Exploitation Day on Wednesday.Faisal Khokhar said that Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people in their just and legitimate struggle until they are able to exercise their right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, Sports Board Punjab organised a solidarity rally on Kashmir Exploitation Day to express unwavering support for the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir at Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Wednesday. DG Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi led the rally, which commenced from the National Hockey Stadium and concluded at Gaddafi Stadium. The participants of the rally chanted slogans in support of the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed their solidarity with their struggle.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Lahore Division Nouman Yousaf and DC Lahore Capt (retd) Ali Ejaz led the Kashmir Solidarity Rally of the district administration to mark Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir on Wednesday.
The officers and staff of the district administration, alongside citizens belonging to various walks of life, participated in the rally. The participants of rally raised slogans in favour of Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Lahore Nouman Yousaf said that the global conscience must play its role regarding the Indian action of August 5, 2019. He stated that the hearts of Pakistanis beat with their Kashmiri brothers and the freedom is their destiny. The district administration and the public stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom. “The rallies being held across the city are an expression of our commitment to the oppressed Kashmiris”.
DC Lahore said that August 5 was a usurping attack on Kashmiri rights. Jammu and Kashmir will surely attain freedom, the sacrifices of Kashmiris will not go in vain. “Today's rally is a living proof of our full support for the Kashmiris' right to self-determination”.
