LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken serious notice of the participation of certain former Pakistan cricketers in the 20th Asian Legends League 2026 currently being staged in Zambia, declaring the event unsanctioned under ICC regulations.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament has not been approved by the Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) and falls under the category of disapproved cricket events. The ICC has reiterated that all foreign players must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective home boards before participating in overseas cricket competitions.
Member Boards are also obligated to take disciplinary action against players who participate in unsanctioned events, with non-compliance potentially leading to sanctions against the boards themselves.
In light of these directives, the PCB has announced disciplinary measures against individuals found to have participated without requisite approvals: Two-year ban on the issuance of any PCB NOC for participation in approved overseas leagues or events.
