LAHORE: Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) from Khushab Asif Malik and Zafar Abbas Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed national political affairs, development projects and issues relating to the constituency. The MPAs apprised the chief minister of public issues being faced by the people of Khushab. The CM assured them that the issues would be addressed. The MPAs congratulated the chief minister on securing overwhelming confidence of the people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and thanked her for the launch of electric bus service in Khushab. They paid tribute to her for presenting 10 electric buses to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Maryam said the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) was the most popular public party in Punjab as well as across the country and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. She said Punjab and the country would continue to move forward under the leadership of PMLN Quaid Nawaz Sharif. She said a common voice was now being heard from all the provinces that Punjab was performing the best in every sector, including law and order.
The MPAs said Maryam Nawaz, as chief minister, had carried out record development works across the province. They said the launch of the electric bus service won the hearts of people. They said thousands of commuters were benefiting daily from the electric bus service operating between General Bus Stand Khushab and Garot Chowk, Mitha Tiwana and Mangwal. They said the Punjab government, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, had set new records in public service.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz paid a glowing tribute to police martyrs who laid down their lives for the country and saluted the patience and resilience of their families on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day.
In her message, the chief minister said the sacrifices rendered by the Punjab Police in the fight against terrorism, extremism and crime were unforgettable. She said every officer and Jawan of the Punjab Police had demonstrated unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Maryam said the Punjab government had assumed responsibility for providing quality education, healthcare, housing and other essential facilities to the children of police martyrs. Alongside the Safe City Project, the sacrifices of police martyrs played a pivotal role in making Lahore one of the world’s safer cities. Due to the dedicated efforts of the Punjab Police, Lahore surpassed several developed cities in the Number Crime and Safety Index. The Punjab Police are being equipped with modern weapons, state-of-the-art protective and communication equipment, bulletproof vehicles and other essential resources to further strengthen law enforcement. The chief minister observed that the sacrifices of police martyrs had borne fruit, adding that the riverine (Kacha) areas were now secure.
