PESHAWAR: The Regional Board of Management of Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Central and South) on Tuesday reviewed the organisation’s quarterly performance and ongoing welfare projects at a meeting chaired by Provincial President Khalid Waqas.
The meeting was attended by Provincial General Secretary Mohammad Shakir Siddiqui, CEO of the Bano Qabil Programme Pakistan Shahid Iqbal, provincial vice-presidents, secretaries, directors of various departments, the regional manager, and departmental managers.
Participants were briefed on the foundation’s ongoing welfare and relief activities. Progress reports were presented on the Bano Qabil Programme, health services, orphan sponsorship, clean water initiatives, the Qurbani campaign, education projects, under-construction Aghosh Homes, hospitals, mosques and other development schemes. After reviewing the reports, the forum expressed satisfaction with the organisation’s overall performance.
Shahid Iqbal briefed the meeting on the programme’s growing popularity and its efforts to equip young people with free information technology skills.
He also highlighted opportunities for online earning and employment, besides outlining future plans aimed at introducing further innovation and expanding the programme.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial President Khalid Waqas paid tribute to philanthropists, welfare organisations and thousands of Alkhidmat Foundation volunteers for their services.
He said the foundation was playing an effective role in promoting socio-economic development through its initiatives in education, healthcare, orphan care, emergency relief and other public welfare sectors.
Khalid Waqas said the organisation’s greatest strength was the trust of the public and the commitment of its thousands of volunteers, who were serving humanity with dedication, sincerity and without discrimination.
