LAHORE:DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran paid a surprise visit to Ghaziabad Police Station at around 1:30 am and suspended the entire staff of police station over an alleged delay in action in a reported rape case involving a woman and failure to promptly inform senior officers.
According to the police spokesperson, SHO Ghaziabad Shehryar was suspended and replaced by Ali Zaib Dastgir.On the orders of the DIG Operations, all 78 personnel of Ghaziabad Police Station were suspended, including sub-inspectors, eight ASIs, five head constables, front desk staff, the station clerk and drivers.
Police sources said a formal suspension report was also recorded. Police authorities stated that a complete investigation is under way and that no official found negligent will be granted any leniency
Ex-employee held for stealing Rs300,000 from shoe shop
Ravi Road Police arrested a former employee accused of stealing Rs300,000 from the cash counter of a private shoe shop.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Kashif Javed, had worked at the shop three years ago. Initial investigations revealed that he later returned to seek re-employment and allegedly took advantage of the owner’s absence to steal Rs300,000 in cash before fleeing.
Police said the suspect reportedly spent part of the stolen money on hotel stays and purchased a mobile phone. The mobile phone and the remaining cash have been recovered from his possession.
Two POs arrested
The Mobiles Squad at Shera Kot checkpoint arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) during routine checking of public transport.
According to the spokesperson, the suspects were wanted by FIA authorities in Okara and Lahore in cases involving alleged human smuggling, visa fraud and banking fraud.The arrested suspects, identified as Riaz and Mehboob, were handed over to Shera Kot Police Station for further legal action, and the relevant FIA wing was informed.
