LAHORE:Auqaf Secretary Dr Ehsan Bhutta praised the security arrangements made for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions and the annual Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA).
Addressing officials and devotees on the concluding day of the 983rd annual Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), Dr Bhutta said the teachings and spiritual legacy of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA) represented the true essence of the Quran, Sunnah and the noble traditions of Islam. He highlighted that the saint’s message of harmony and compassion continued to guide people beyond boundaries and generations.
He announced the successful and peaceful conclusion of the events, attributing the smooth arrangements and effective coordination among various government departments.Dr Bhutta appreciated the efforts of the Auqaf Department, district administration, police, Rescue 1122, civic agencies and health authorities for ensuring comprehensive security, sanitation and other facilities for millions of devotees attending the annual event.
He said the Punjab government remained committed to further improving administrative arrangements and modernising facilities to provide better services to devotees during future religious gatherings.
Earlier, Commissioner Nauman Yousaf reviewed the arrangements for the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) and the Urs of Data Sahib (RA) here on Tuesday.He visited the district administration’s central control room, Karbala Gamey Shah Chowk, Data Sahib Chowk, the procession routes, and the security buffer zone.
The commissioner also visited the central monitoring and control centre established at the DC Office. DC Ali Ejaz gave a briefing on the monitoring and control mechanism.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf issued directions to the district administration, stating that due to the under-construction areas, special secure iron barriers must be kept under constant monitoring. He added that guide volunteers must be appointed to help direct the participants of the Chehlum procession and the visitors of the Data Sahib Urs.
