KHAR: Leaders of various political and religious parties on Friday paid tribute to the victims of the July 30, 2023, suicide blast at a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) public gathering in Bajaur and called on the government to take effective measures to restore lasting peace in the district.
The event, organised by the JUIF to commemorate the martyrs of the attack, was attended by leaders from different political and religious parties.Among those who addressed the gathering were JUIF leaders Maulana Muhammad Tariq and former senator Maulana Abdul Rashid, senior Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former MNA Sahibzada Haroonur Rashid, senior Pakistan People’s Party leader and former MNA Syed Akhunzada Chattan, Pakistan Muslim League-N Bajaur president Malik Gul Karim Khan, Maulana Zakirullah, former tehsil nazim Syed Badshah, RZK Vice Chairman Mian Habib Gul and Malik Ayaz.
The speakers paid rich tribute to those who lost their lives in the attack, saying their sacrifices would always be remembered. They also expressed concern over the prevailing law and order situation in Bajaur and urged the government to take immediate, effective and serious measures to eliminate militancy, protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure sustainable peace in the district.
