KHAR: Two persons were killed in a bomb explosion near a dam in the Salarzai tehsil of Bajaur tribal district on Sunday, police officials said.
A police official, Jamal Shah, said that preliminary reports suggested that two people were killed in the blast near the Tali Dam. Rescue teams, police and other officials, he said, rushed to the site soon after receiving information about the incident.
Officials said the body of one victim had been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar, while efforts were underway to recover the second body from the waters of Tali Dam. Rescue personnel were continuing the search operation.
The identities of the victims and the cause of the blast are yet to be ascertained.
