Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said the party associated with Form 47 has emerged to seek political sympathy in Kashmir today.
He said on Tuesday that the people of Kashmir have rejected fake representation in the past and will continue to reject it in the future. Reacting strongly to the statement of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Memon said the party in power through a fake mandate is trying to portray itself as the champion of the rights of the Kashmiri people. He added that the political history of the party associated with Form 47 is marked by repeated disrespect for the public mandate.
The senior minister further said that a party which deprives the people of its own province of their right to vote has no moral justification to engage in politics over the rights of the Kashmiri people. He added that, just as the people of Gilgit-Baltistan rejected the party associated with Form 47, the people of Kashmir would do the same.
He said it should not be forgotten that even today, millions of citizens from Punjab come to Karachi and other cities of Sindh for better healthcare and medical facilities. Instead of criticizing others, he said, they should evaluate their own performance. Memon said the Pakistan Peoples Party believes in public service, democratic values, constitutional supremacy, and a genuine public mandate. He added that the party’s politics is centered not on power but on earning the trust of the people and serving them.
He said the Sindh government is set to meet the energy needs of 275,000 low-income families through the provision of solar home systems. He described the Rs18.2 billion project, launched on the instructions of the Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, as a revolutionary initiative by the Sindh government.
In a statement issued to the media on Tuesday, Senior Minister Memon said 132,000 families in off-grid areas and 143,000 families in on-grid areas will benefit from the government’s solar home systems project. The initiative aims to provide clean and affordable energy to deserving families living in low-income and remote areas.
He said each eligible family is being provided with a 180-watt solar panel, batteries, a central control unit, a charge controller, a mobile charging facility, fans, and LED lights.
