LAHORE:The Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education (SHC&ME) Department has terminated the postgraduate FCPS Rheumatology training of Dr Shoaib over alleged misconduct linked to objectionable social media posts, according to an official order.
The order states that Dr Shoaib was inducted in January 2025 through the Central Induction Program (CIP)/Punjab Residency Programme (PRP) for postgraduate training in FCPS Rheumatology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital/Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore. According to the department, authorities took notice after social media posts containing ‘highly objectionable and undesirable statements’ were circulated in connection with the trainee doctor.
Special Secretary (D&R) Ahmad Kamal ordered the termination of Dr Shoaib's postgraduate training. Besides, the department directed Dr Shoaib to deposit the entire stipend/salary received during his training. He has been barred from applying to the Punjab Residency Programme for the next two years under Clause 7.22 of the relevant policy manual.
In another notification, the department took action against another doctor, Dr Jawad Salman, posted on ad hoc basis at Mayo Hospital Lahore, whose services have been terminated with immediate effect on the basis of incompetence and misconduct.
