NOWSHERA: A seven-year-old boy was found brutally murdered in the Mera Jalozai area of Nowshera on Saturday, with his throat and neck allegedly slit by unidentified assailants before his body was dumped in nearby fields.
According to police, the victim, identified as Shahzad, son of Aminullah, had left his home in Mohmandabad, Mera Jalozai, in the morning but did not return by the afternoon, prompting his family to launch a search.
An FIR has been registered at the complaint of the victim’s uncle, Zakir Khan. He told police that while searching for the child, family members found Shahzad’s body in the fields of Aslam Khan in Mohmandabad. The complainant stated that unidentified suspects had slit the child’s throat and neck with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.
The complainant further told police that the family has no known enmity with anyone.
Taking immediate notice of the gruesome incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Nowshera Sonia Shamroz ordered an investigation and directed the forensic team to examine the crime scene. She also tasked the investigation team with arresting the perpetrators at the earliest. Police officials said that further investigation into the incident was underway.
