KARACHI: inDrive has announced the official rollout of its new in-app Trip Audio Recording feature across Pakistan, according to a statement on Friday.
The feature allows passengers and drivers to manually activate recording from the app’s Safety Centre during a ride, giving both parties the ability to document their journey environment. The company said this introduced a reliable and transparent framework that supports its safety teams in evaluating situations fairly and accurately based on verified audio data.
The tool operates under a transparency protocol that allows it to record only when explicitly turned on by a user, meaning the app cannot record covertly or run audio capture in the background. All recorded audio files are fully encrypted immediately upon generation, and no one, including the passenger, the driver or inDrive, can play back, download or share the audio, with the company stating it does not provide the recordings to third parties.
