KARACHI: More than 500 insurance executives, actuaries, regulators, policymakers and international experts will gather in Karachi on July 21 for the 1st IAP & PSOA International Insurance Conference 2026, one of the largest insurance sector gatherings ever held in Pakistan, according to a statement on Saturday.

Jointly organised by the Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP) and the Pakistan Society of Actuaries (PSOA), the conference will be held at Movenpick Hotel under the theme ‘Reimagining Pakistan’s Resilience: Building a Sustainable Future through Insurance’.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has been invited as chief guest. Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, coordinator to the prime minister on commerce, will attend as guest of honour, while Adnan Pasha Siddiqui, adviser to the minister for finance and revenue, will present the government’s policy perspective.

The insurance sector employs over 200,000 people and generates more than Rs750 billion in premium, according to the statement.

The conference will bring together national and international experts to discuss climate resilience, catastrophe risk, digital insurance, artificial intelligence, health insurance, pension reform, takaful, reinsurance and Pakistan’s insurance protection gap.

IAP Chairman Shoaib Javed Hussain said the conference aims to position insurance as a strategic pillar of economic resilience, financial protection and sustainable growth.

PSOA President Usama Dangra said the event will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, international collaboration and practical ideas to support the future development of the insurance industry.
