Sindh information secy reviews plans to modernise media monitoring

Sindh Information Secretary Kashif Gulzar Shaikh on Friday chaired a meeting to review measures aimed at strengthening the Information Department’s media monitoring system through the use of modern technology and improved analytical capabilities.

The meeting, held at the Directorate of Social and Digital Media, was attended by Director Advertisements Muhammad Yousif Kabooro, Director Social and Digital Media Aziz Ahmed Hakro, Deputy Director Advertisements Sarang Latif Chandio, and other officials.

Participants reviewed proposals to enhance monitoring of print, electronic, digital and social media, with discussions focusing on comprehensive media coverage, timely news compilation, analytical reporting and the adoption of modern monitoring technologies.

Shaikh directed officials to further modernise and streamline the media monitoring system in line with professional standards to ensure accurate, timely and comprehensive monitoring of the Sindh government’s policies, development initiatives, public welfare programmes and media coverage.

He said an effective media monitoring mechanism plays a key role in evaluating government performance and ensuring the timely dissemination of accurate information to the public. The meeting reaffirmed the Information Department’s commitment to continuously upgrading its media monitoring system by adopting modern technologies and international best practices.
