Rawalpindi:Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi, Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood, accompanied by Controller of Examinations Professor Tanveer Asghar Awan, conducted surprise visits to various matriculation and intermediate marking centres as well as practical examination laboratories in District Chakwal.
The purpose of the inspections was to review the quality of paper marking, practical examinations, examination management, transparency, and strict implementation of the Board's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
During the visit, the Chairman inspected the matriculation marking centres established at Government Girls High School No. 1 Chakwal and Government Boys High School No. 1 Chakwal, along with the intermediate marking centre at Government Graduate College for Girls Chakwal. He thoroughly reviewed the paper assessment process, marking standards, record maintenance, and overall examination arrangements. The Chairman also visited the practical examination laboratories for Biology, Computer Science, and Geography, where he examined the conduct of practical examinations, availability of facilities, maintenance of discipline, and compliance with the Board's prescribed guidelines.
Addressing the Head Examiners, Sub-Examiners, and Practical Examiners, Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood directed them to perform their responsibilities with the highest standards of honesty, impartiality, and professionalism. He emphasized that there should be no compromise on the implementation of the Board's SOPs.
He stressed that every candidate must be awarded marks solely on the basis of academic merit and actual performance, adding that the credibility of the examination system and public confidence depend upon a transparent, fair, and merit-based assessment process.
The Chairman reiterated that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Government of Punjab's zero-tolerance policy, any negligence, biased marking, substandard assessment, or violation of examination rules will not be tolerated. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against anyone found involved in malpractice or misconduct.
Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood reaffirmed BISE Rawalpindi's commitment to ensuring transparency, merit, quality, and accountability at every stage of examinations, paper marking, and practical assessments. He stated that the Board will further strengthen its monitoring mechanism to ensure that students receive results that truly reflect their academic abilities while reinforcing public confidence in the examination system.
