KARACHI: Pakistan’s local mobile phone manufacturers assembled 1.93 million units in June 2026, registering a decline of 12 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and 4.0 per cent month-on-month (MoM), according to a report by Topline Research issued on Friday.
Cumulatively, local manufacturing and assembly fell by 8.0 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 13.1 million units in the first half of 2026, compared with 14.24 million units in the same period last year.
Mobile phone imports, meanwhile, surged sixfold YoY and more than doubled on a monthly basis in June, a trend the report attributed to pre-budget buying activity and the launch of Airlink’s Apple mono store.As a result, local manufacturing and assembly met 75 per cent of Pakistan’s mobile phone demand in June 2026, down from 86 per cent in May.
