LAHORE:The 2-day National Games of Special Olympics Association of Pakistan got underway at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex gymnasium hall on Wednesday.
National Special Games, in which 115 special athletes are participating from across the country, is being organized with the collaboration of SBP. DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial torch. The opening ceremony was attended by Runaq Lakhani, CEO of Special Olympics Pakistan, Farkhanda Jabeen, National Sports Director, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmad, Punjab Director Nuzhat Rabab, Shamaila Iram, Aasma Hussain, and other officials. The athletes from different regions presented a colourful march-past in opening ceremony.
The competitions of National Special Games will continue until July 16 (today) and the events of powerlifting, badminton and table tennis will be conducted during the event.
