ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a major reshuffle of senior diplomatic officials, appointing Senior Additional Secretary Dr. Faisal Khan as the country’s National Coordinator for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Dr. Faisal Khan will continue to perform his new responsibilities while serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, Chief of Protocol Tipu Usman Chaudhry, who has been appointed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, will be succeeded by Nauman Bashir Bhatti as the new Chief of Protocol. In another key appointment, Director General for the Americas Desk, Aamir Khan, has been named Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal.
Separately, Syed Ahmed Maroof, who was serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Middle East Desk, has been relieved of his current assignment.
