PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday rejected the transfer requests submitted by three senior officials of the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), including Director General Muhammad Fawad.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah directed the officials to expedite the ongoing development and beautification projects in Galiyat and ensure their timely completion.
Sources told Geo News that GDA DG Muhammad Fawad and two other senior officers had requested transfers, citing several reasons, including the alleged harsh attitude of the Special Assistant to chief minister on Tourism Adil Iqbal. The requests were submitted to the chief secretary.
The sources said the chief secretary turned down all three transfer requests and instructed the officers to continue their work with greater efficiency, particularly the beautification initiatives underway in Galiyat.
The special assistant visited Galiyat on Saturday after public complaints about illegal constructions in the area. According to sources, his interaction with officials during the visit was stern, and videos of the visit were later shared on social media.
Responding to the matter, Adil Iqbal said his visit was prompted by public complaints about illegal constructions in Galiyat.“An inquiry into the illegal constructions in Galiyat will be conducted. If anyone has requested to be removed from their position, that is their personal matter,” he said.
