Rawalpindi:Deputy Commissioner Captain (r) Nadeem Nasir on Monday said modernizing the sanitation system in Rawalpindi is the administration’s top priority and directed the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to further strengthen monitoring and improve standards in rural areas, says a press release.
Chairing a meeting during his visit to the RWMC Head Office, he said outstanding performance should be rewarded while poor performance must be held accountable without discrimination.On arrival, DC was received by Suthra Punjab Agency MD and RWMC CEO Rana Sajid Safdar along with senior officials. The CEO briefed him on sanitation operations, field monitoring, fleet management, public awareness campaigns, digital systems and other administrative matters.
Rana Sajid Safdar informed the meeting that more than 3,772 sanitation workers are deployed in two shifts to maintain cleanliness across the city. Over 1,000 tons of municipal waste are collected and transported daily through a fleet of more than 376 operational vehicles.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the RWMC Control Room and was briefed on digital monitoring of sanitation operations, workforce tracking, attendance management, and fleet monitoring.
Captain Nadeem Nasir directed the management to make the monitoring mechanism more effective and stringent. He also instructed RWMC to obtain the required certification upon completion of the surveys.
