LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Abdul Kareem met 14 probationary ASPs of the 52nd Common Training Programme, including two female officers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh, at the Central Police Office on Tuesday.
The IGP said the Punjab Chief Minister had equipped Punjab Police with IT-based applications, modern community policing tools and advanced technology. He said under the ‘Safe Punjab Vision’, a zero-tolerance policy was being enforced against violence, sexual assault and harassment of women and children, while an AI-enabled Safe City system had been expanded across the province up to tehsil level. He advised the officers to focus on field policing, timely decision-making and practical experience, directing them to resolve public issues on priority and promote people-friendly policing. The IGP urged them to gain knowledge of Punjab Safe Cities’ surveillance systems and modern infrastructure, stressing that district field training would help in their professional grooming.
