KARACHI: The operational services of the Lak Pass radar in Mastung district, Balochistan, have been suspended from July 13 to August 8, following the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
According to it, the radar will remain out of service for 26 days due to administrative reasons. During the suspension, radar surveillance within a 250-nautical-mile radius of the facility will not be available.
It states that air traffic services will continue without disruption through an alternative surveillance system operated by the Lahore and Karachi Area Control Centres (ACCs). According to officials of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), non-radar air traffic control procedures will be implemented in the affected airspace whenever required to ensure the safe and orderly management of air traffic during the suspension period.
