The monsoon season has arrived across the country with forecast pointing to showers in Karachi as well.
K-Electric (KE) as urged citizens to prioritise safety and remain vigilant, particularly in areas where waterlogging becomes an issue.
With centralised monitoring of both weather patterns and the power supply situation, KE’s operational teams remain on alert. The company’s management is also closely coordinating with civic agencies and the city administration to ensure timely and effective response based on the Met Office’s forecasts as weather conditions evolve.
The utility acknowledges the challenges that rains bring for citizens and emphasises that public safety remains its top priority. In preparation for the upcoming monsoon, KE has conducted preventative maintenance across its feeder network.
To strengthen the stability of the generation and transmission network, maintenance work has also been carried out across all grid stations that included replacing faulty connectors and busbars to ensure reliable power supply to the city. Additionally, to improve its infrastructure resilience, KE has invested over PKR 1.2 billion in a series of safety enhancement projects.
