QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) has strongly condemned a recent armed attack on Mengal Kot in Wadh, alleging that the assault was carried out by “death squads” as part of a deliberate attempt to fuel unrest and deepen divisions in Balochistan.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s central spokesperson said the attack was aimed at creating fear, instability and conditions that could lead to internal conflict in the province.
The BNP alleged certain elements were using armed groups to undermine Balochistan’s political and social environment. It said such attacks were contrary to Baloch tribal traditions, which reject violence, intimidation and the use of armed groups to settle political differences.
The spokesperson warned that any attempt to reactivate such groups and destabilise the province would be strongly resisted.
