LAHORE:The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has received global recognition for its technology-driven policing model, earning a prestigious international award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), USA, for its effective use of advanced security systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital monitoring in preventing vehicle theft and other crimes.
According to a PSCA spokesperson, the IACP has selected the authority's modern policing model for the award and informed Managing Director PSCA Muhammad Ahsan Younis of the honour. The award will be presented during the IACP's annual global police conference scheduled to be held in Orlando, Florida, USA, in October 2026. The spokesperson said the recognition reflects the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister for a safe Punjab through technology-driven policing. He added that modern security systems, AI, camera-based surveillance, digital data analytics and other advanced technological solutions have transformed conventional policing by strengthening crime prevention and improving public safety.
