ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the residence of senior tribal leader and PPP figure Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal in Khuzdar, describing it as an assault on democracy and patriotic citizens.
In a statement, he said, “An attack on Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal is not merely an attack on an individual but an assault on democratic voices and patriotic citizens who refuse to bow before the forces of terror.”
He expressed complete solidarity with Mengal and his family, paying tribute to his courage and composure in the face of terrorism.
Bilawal urged the authorities concerned to ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of perpetrators, their facilitators and all those involved in the attack, stressing that there should be no tolerance or safe haven for the enemies of Pakistan.
Reaffirming the PPP’s commitment to peace and democracy, he said the party would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with all those defending peace, democratic values and the federation.
Expressing confidence in the nation’s resilience, Bilawal said the forces of violence and hatred would ultimately be defeated by the unity and unwavering determination of the people of Pakistan.
