Islamabad : The Islamabad Police have arrested a man accused of murdering his elder brother following a domestic dispute that erupted during breakfast, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The suspect, identified as Fawad Khan, allegedly stabbed his elder brother, Shahzad Khan, to death with a pair of scissors within the jurisdiction of the Sangjani Police Station. Following the fatal altercation, the suspect fled the capital city to neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In response to the incident, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi ordered the immediate formation of special investigation teams to track down the culprit. Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sangjani Police Station and his team utilized technical surveillance and human intelligence to successfully trace and apprehend the suspect in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within a short timeframe.

Authorities confirmed that the murder weapon, the pair of scissors used in the attack, has been recovered from the custody of the accused. Preliminary findings indicate the attack was the direct result of a sudden domestic dispute between the siblings. Further interrogation and investigation into the incident remain ongoing.

DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that individuals involved in violent crimes and homicide will face the full weight of the law. He emphasized that the police will present the accused before a competent court backed by strong evidence to ensure swift justice.
