KARACHI: JazzWorld and Population Council Pakistan have signed a two-year Letter of Intent (LoI) to use digital platforms and data to expand access to trusted information and improve health outcomes for women and young people, according to a statement issued on Saturday (July 11, which is also observed as World Population Day).
The partnership aims to equip women and youth with the knowledge, digital tools and opportunities needed to contribute to the country’s long-term social and economic development, as the country’s young population continues to grow.
The collaboration combines JazzWorld’s digital reach and customer engagement capabilities with Population Council Pakistan’s research and development expertise to design and scale initiatives promoting digital inclusion, empowering women and youth, expanding access to trusted reproductive and maternal health information, and supporting evidence-informed policymaking.
Initial areas of collaboration include nationwide digital awareness campaigns, AI-enabled innovation challenges, joint research and digital engagement initiatives focused on maternal health, reproductive health and youth empowerment.
Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, said the company’s responsibility extended beyond connecting people to also connecting them to knowledge, opportunity and services that improve their lives. He said combining Population Council Pakistan’s research expertise with JazzWorld’s digital reach would help empower millions of Pakistanis to make better-informed decisions and improve health outcomes.
Dr Zeba Sathar, country adviser of Population Council Pakistan, said research, innovation and strong partnerships were essential to addressing complex development challenges. She said the collaboration would enable the organisation to combine its development expertise with JazzWorld’s digital scale, with a focus on women and young people in underserved communities.
