Islamabad:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted an official visit to the Police Lines Headquarters entry point to review prevailing security arrangements and subsequently held an open court session at the Central Police Office to address public grievances.
During his security inspection, IGP Rizvi was accompanied by DIG Headquarters Muhammad Atiq Tahir, AIG Logistics Abdul Haq Umrani, and other senior police officials. The AIG Logistics briefed the police chief on current security protocols, the entry management system, and overall monitoring measures enforced at the headquarters’ primary entry point.
Following the briefing, the IGP issued strict directives to ensure foolproof security across the installation, ordering all personnel to perform their duties with a high level of vigilance and professionalism. He instructed officers to tighten security measures by conducting comprehensive checks on all individuals entering and exiting the premises. Furthermore, he mandated that personnel be thoroughly briefed on emergency response protocols, that all duty points undergo regular inspections, and that deployed officials be equipped with complete protective gear. Senior officers were also directed to conduct frequent supervisory visits to the Police Lines and other key government installations to ensure compliance with these instructions.
In line with the department's "Open Door Policy," IGP Rizvi later chaired an open court session at the Central Police Office. The session allowed both citizens and police personnel to present their issues directly to the police chief, who issued immediate orders to relevant officers for prompt, merit-based resolutions.
Reiterating the department's priorities, the IGP emphasized that addressing public complaints transparently and within prescribed timelines remains a core mission of the Islamabad Police. He encouraged citizens to attend the daily open courts without hesitation, noting that these sessions have greatly enhanced the timely resolution of public grievances. To ensure accessibility at the grassroots level, the IGP ordered all Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers to strictly maintain their designated public meeting hours and resolve local grievances fairly and efficiently.
