LAHORE:The Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, Paulo Domingues, along with his spouse, called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider at Governor's House here on Friday.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in business, agriculture, education and culture, among other sectors.Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, while speaking on the occasion said that there was a need to further promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors. Pakistan is a peaceful country with vast investment opportunities, he said, adding that there should be exchange of delegations of the business community between the two countries to promote investment.
Regarding increasing cooperation in tourism, the governor said that the northern areas of Pakistan are endowed with breathtaking natural beauty. He said that Pakistan wants to enhance cooperation with Portugal in the field of tourism. He said that there should be student exchange programmes in higher education between Pakistan and Portugal. While the Ambassador of Portugal, Paulo Domingues, reiterated the commitment to promote bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including business, tourism and education.
