ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar Wednesday underscored the government’s commitment to rule of law and necessity of such institutional capacity-building initiatives.
“The synergy fostered through this series of sessions between investigative bodies and judiciary serves as foundation of a stable legal system,” the law minister remarked while addressing a session of orientation sessions for judges of District Judiciary, Islamabad, organised by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The session, titled “Investigation Mechanism of Money Laundering Cases and Global Framework”, highlighted NAB’s commitment to bridging the gap between investigative expertise and judicial oversight in combating complex financial crimes. Minister for Law and Justice attended the event as chief guest, while NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed inaugurated the proceedings.
In his address, Law Minister Tarar described the judiciary as ultimate guardian of due process in high-profile financial crime cases. “By sustaining this platform for professional development, we ensure our legal framework remains dynamic and that judiciary is well-equipped to protect national interest while upholding fundamental rights of every citizen,” he said.
The minister also stressed the need for specialised judicial training, noting such initiatives are essential for understanding evolving laws and growing complexities of financial crimes.
In his welcome address, the NAB chairman said continuation of orientation series reflected the need for sustained coordination between investigators and judiciary. “As we navigate an evolving landscape of financial crime, moving beyond conventional methods into sophisticated digital and transnational networks, it is imperative our investigative strategies remain in harmony with judicial requirements,” he said.
