MANSEHRA: The Education Department’s Class-IV Employees Association on Wednesday alleged widespread irregularities in the long- delayed appointment of more than 256 Class-IV employees in the district.
“These appointments have been made after a delay of more than nine years in violation of the prescribed rules and criteria. Non-deserving candidates recommended by provincial lawmakers in their respective constituencies have been appointed to Class-IV posts in boys’ schools across the district,” Adil Ghani, president of the association, told reporters.
He alleged that candidates whose families had donated land free of cost for the construction of government school buildings were also denied appointments in violation of the KP service rules.
“Would you believe that the District Education Officer did not even comply with the Peshawar High Court’s stay order regarding the appointments of Class-IV employees” Ghani said.He further alleged that court orders regarding the employees’ sons’ quota and the deceased employees’ quota had also been ignored, and that no eligible candidates under those categories had been appointed.
“The widows and orphaned children of deceased employees, who have been struggling to earn a livelihood after the loss of their family breadwinners, have been denied their legal rights,” Ghani said.The association’s district president urged the chief secretary to take notice of the alleged irregularities in the appointments in light of the relevant court orders.
Meanwhile, District Education Officer Mahroof Khan, who has been suspended for 120 days over alleged negligence in connection with the Summer Learning and Growing Festival 2026 the other day, said he was currently on leave.
