Islamabad: Unesco Country Representative and Chief of Office for Pakistan Dr Fuad Pashayev met Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women Noureen Bano Lehri at the NCSW’s invitation here to discuss strengthening collaboration on gender equality in Pakistan.
The discussion centered on aligning the Unesco’s work with the NCSW’s mandate of exploring how joint efforts can advance evidence-based policy, institutional coordination and inclusive development outcomes for women across the country.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of working with national gender machinery to ensure programming is coherent, sustainable and rooted in local priorities. The Unesco country representative said his organisation looked forward to building on that engagement in the months ahead.
