3 cops arrested after corruption probe, SHO suspended

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has ordered the registration of a criminal case and the immediate arrest of three police officials of Dhamiyal Police Station after an inquiry found them guilty of corruption following a complaint lodged by a citizen.

According to a spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police, the CPO took notice of the complaint and ordered an immediate departmental inquiry. The investigation confirmed the allegations, prompting the suspension of the three officials and the registration of a criminal case against them. The arrested officers were identified as Hamza, Siyab and Naseem.

The CPO also suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of Dhamiyal Police Station for negligence in the discharge of official duties and directed that a charge sheet be issued against him.

Speaking on the action, CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said corruption, abuse of authority and negligence in the performance of official duties would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to ensuring accountability and taking strict action against officials found involved in misconduct.
