LAHORE:The body of a 19-year-old youth was recovered from the BRB Canal prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The divers were dispatched after receiving information about a body in the canal. The rescue team retrieved the body during a search operation. The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Hussain Ali.
Rescue officials said the body was being handed over to police to complete legal formalities, including shifting it to the morgue for a post-mortem examination. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of death and the circumstances in which the young man ended up in the canal. Further inquiries are under way.
