LAHORE: People with disabilities, students from middle schools, high schools, non-formal education institutions, religious seminaries and private schools will participate in CM Punjab
Youth Games sports competitions. DG Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi shared this information while chairing a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday. Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed and other officials concerned attended the meeting in which the preparations of sports competitions from the Union Council level up to the Divisional level were reviewed in detail.
Tariq Qureshi said that more than 77,000 institutions across the province will participate in the games, making it one of the largest sports event ever organized in Punjab. “The competitions of six sports will be held at school level, 14 sports events at college level while the competitions of 19 sports disciplines will be conducted at university level during the grand event”.
DG Sports Punjab said that as per eligibility criteria, the male and female students of U-16 age group can participate in school level competitions, U-19 age group students in college level events while male and female athletes of U-25 age group can feature in university level sports competitions.
He said these games are being organised in line with the vision of the CM Punjab to promote sports and identify young talent across the province.“These games would help discover a new generation of athletes capable of representing Punjab and Pakistan at higher levels”. He further said the CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 are expected to attract more than five million male and female participants, making it the largest youth sports event in the province’s history.
